Custom Synthesis: Specialty Chemistry, Scaled

In specialty chemical manufacturing, flexibility and consistency matter just as much as capacity. Custom Synthesis, LLC, based in Anderson, South Carolina, brings these priorities together through a manufacturing platform designed for high-purity esters, specialty blends, and customer-specific toll production. As part of Syntha Group’s family of specialty chemical companies, Custom Synthesis operates alongside sister company Ethox Chemicals, giving customers access to a broader network of chemical manufacturing experience, formulation knowledge, and responsive service. Serving markets such as personal care, lubricants, plastics, metalworking, inks & coatings, and industrial applications, Custom Synthesis supports customers that need dependable chemistry from trial batch to full production.

Reaction & Blending Capacity

One of Custom Synthesis’s core strengths is its ability to scale. Projects can begin with pilot trials and move into full production without losing sight of quality, reproducibility, or formulation intent. With pilot reactor capabilities starting around 100 gallons and production reactors reaching up to 8,000 gallons, customers can evaluate a process, refine specifications, and expand output with confidence. A flexible fleet of blending equipment includes 13 stainless steel vessels with ~45,000-gallon total capacity across the fleet. This scalability is especially valuable for companies launching new products, qualifying alternate suppliers, or developing private grades.

High Purity, Low-Color Esters

High-purity, low-color esters are a core specialty at Custom Synthesis. As a specialty chemical manufacturer focused on custom-tailored, high-value ester compounds, we support applications in lubricants, metalworking, plasticizers, personal care, food additives, oil field products, inks, and industrial formulations. With experience across fatty esters, phosphate esters, sulfated alcohols, and high-temperature polymeric esters, our team helps customers meet targeted performance, purity, color, and processing requirements.

Toll and Contract Manufacturing

Custom Synthesis provides both toll and contract manufacturing support for customers that need a dependable partner to produce specialty chemicals efficiently, consistently, and at the right scale—from pilot batches to commercial production. This approach gives customers added flexibility, expanded capacity, and access to experienced specialty chemical manufacturing resources without the need to invest in additional infrastructure.

ISO 9001:2015 / RSPO / KOSHER

Quality, compliance, and responsible manufacturing are central to Custom Synthesis’s operations. ISO 9001:2015 certification supports consistent processes, batch traceability, and continuous improvement; RSPO certification reflects a commitment to responsibly sourced palm-based materials; and Kosher manufacturing capabilities, supervised by Organized Kashrus Laboratories, help customers meet market-specific ingredient, production, and packaging requirements. Together, these standards demonstrate Custom Synthesis’s focus on reliable quality systems, responsible practices, and customer confidence.

Logistics Support

Beyond reactions and compliance, Custom Synthesis offers practical manufacturing and logistics support that helps customers move products efficiently through the supply chain. Finished materials can be shipped in drums, totes, tank trucks, or railcars, giving customers options that align with order size, handling requirements, and distribution strategy. This range of packaging and shipment formats reinforces our role as a manufacturing partner rather than simply a supplier.

From Idea to Production

Custom Synthesis offers a combination of technical capability, scalable equipment, and customer-focused service. Whether the need is a high-purity ester, a specialty emulsion, a Kosher-certified product, or a custom toll manufacturing relationship, we are positioned to help customers move from idea to production with efficiency and reliability.
